Girls Sushma and Lavita found themselves in a difficult financial situation before enrolling in our Children’s Donation Project. Despise their parent’s hard work, they could not afford to support the education of their children on their own. The support from Slovak donors gave both girls hope for a better future, and they took full advantage of their chance. Today, almost 20 years after enrolling in the project, girls successfully graduated from University. Now they both have a job that gives them a better life.

Sushma Marita D’Souza comes from a small village named Moodbelle, which is located 70 kilometers from the center of Dharma Jyothi, with whom we are cooperating. Sushma has two sisters and a father who unfortunately has health issues. For her mother is raising three children and working a full-time job very challenging. Sushma enrolled in our project in 2003 at the age of nine, her donor was Ms Mária.

Thanks to her generous support, Sushma could get her bachelor’s degree in elementary teaching, and then get a two-year course in public health. Sushma has been working since 2017 and this is what she says about her job: „At the moment, I am working as a project manager at the International Institute for population science in Mumbai. I have a good salary and am good at my job. With gratitude, I am remembering my donor and social centrum Dharma Jyothi, because they both gave me a chance to study and have a brighter future.”

Lavita Monteiro, during the process of enrolling in our project, lived in a village called Bajal, which is located 10 kilometers away from the social center Dharma Jyothi. Thanks to her application form, we could find out that she has two brothers, and even with her parents‘ full-time jobs, it was difficult for them to take care of three children and ensure education for all of them. Lavita enrolled in the project in 2004 when she was in second grade, and her donor is Mr Róbert.

Lavita, is remembering with gratitude: „With the generous help from my donor in 2017, I was able to get my bachelor’s degree in marketing. At the moment, I am working as a Transaction Processing Officer for a company named Mphasis in Mangalore. I have a good and stable salary. Without the support from my donor and social centrum Dharma Jyothi, I would have never been able to graduate. Without the help from Mr Róbert, I could not be the person I am today.”

Your help and support have changed the lives and destinies of children around the world for more than 25 years. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for it and on behalf of the supported children, and we look forward to many more happy stories of our children.
