In our childhood, we all had been dreaming about our future profession. Some of us wanted to be a policeman, other actors and others maybe wanted to work in a health care. All these jobs have one thing in common, and it is the necessity of education. In some countries kids do not have access to education because of bad economic situation. Fulfil their dream is a lot harder.
Seven-year-old girl Maidy, ten -year-old girl Yarlesky, and twelve-year-old boy Carlos come from the Honduran village of Wampusirpi, where together with donators from Slovakia, we help children with education. Thanks to their donors, all three children can go to school and learn in more favourable conditions. They are aware of the support from their donors, and they are trying to achieve their dreams even harder.
Maidy is the youngest among the children. Last year in December she successfully completed the second grade and a few weeks ago she started a school as a third grader. She always looks forward to school and believes that thanks to her education she can become a nurse and help sick people.
Yarlesky is older, going to the fifth grade. Her dream is to become a teacher and teach kids Spanish. Yarlesky comes from ethnic group Miskito, which has its own language. Kids start to learn Spanish later and for some of them it is very hard, and they are struggling. That is why Yarlesky decided to help kids as a Spanish teacher in future.
Carlos is the oldest among the trio and this year he started seventh grade. His favourite subject is mathematic, in which he is very good. In the last letter for his donor, he wrote, that he would like to continue attending the school and that he cannot wait for a high school. Carlos’s dream is big and ambitious. He dreams about becoming an engineer of computer systems.
Even if in some countries it is a matter of course, education is very important for all of us. It offers us important knowledge and opens possibilities for the world of independence. Thanks to you all, who are supporting those kids in education and by that you are giving them hope for better future.
